Chanterelle Mushroom Footed Bowl
This truly unique bowl is from one of the artist favorite series: Chanterelle Mushroom Series! It is inspired by the unique smooth gray bark texture that beech trees create. Chanterelle mushrooms are one of the artist favorite mushrooms to forage in the summer. They are a vibrant orange color among the forest floor and like to grow near beech trees. She created this series because she wanted whomever cherishes one of them to feel like they are right there with her, looking for these little orange flower-like dots in the forest floor, surrounded by the gray bark of the beech trees. Perfect for a catch all tray or even a shallow planter.
The bark texture is created by layers of clay and colorants to create a 3D effect. The mushrooms are individually handcarved and hand glazed as well. The piece is hand-thrown on the potters wheel. Each piece is fired in the kiln to 2200 degrees.
